[Film Review] Coldplay Live 2012

Coldplay fans rejoice! The British alternative rock band is now on the big screen, and on film too. Not only can fans enjoy listening to Coldplay’s albums as their sound fill their ears, they can now watch the band perform their Mylo Xyloto World Tour 2011.

The film consists of footage from the band’s live performances at the Stade de France in Paris, Bell Centre at Montreal and Pyramid Stage. Directed by Paul Dugdale, the film is perfect for those who missed the shows, or those who had the privilege of attending and simply want to relive the magic. COLDPLAY LIVE 2012 was screened for a day in cinemas on the 13th of November, with the DVD released on the 19th of November 2012.

The film opens with the band performing their acclaimed hit Hurts Like Heaven. Even on-screen, it is plain for all to see that Coldplay does indeed have a knack for putting up spectacular shows. With the whole stage lit up in bright lights, the band enthralls the audience as they perform passionately and energetically. The film promises to get you on your feet and singing along to the songs, as they perform hits such as Yellow, Clocks, Princess of China, and finishing off with their famous hit, Every Teardrop is a Waterfall. You can expect tears of joy upon the conclusion.

With the roar of the crowd blasting through your speakers and ringing through you ears, the magic of the film is in the fact that it transports you to their live performances, without you having to leave your seat. So simply lay back as Chris Martin captivates you with his vocal skills, and Jonny Buckland with his electrifying guitar moves. It truly feels as though you are there with them, soaking in the sheer beauty of their live performances.
