NSmen to get academic head start at NUS
NUS will be launching a pilot programme that allows National Service men (NSmen) to take selected courses and earn advance academic credits before matriculation. Through this programme, they hope that it will permit NSmen more time to adjust and adapt to the new academic environment and have a head start in their university education. Due to the compulsory conscription in Singapore, NSmen are usually behind their female peers by 2 years in their education and career path.
