Drop That Label
Drop That Label is an NUS student-led initiative by CHAT to get our NUS peers to drop the labels of stigma we place on those with mental health issues.
The project aims to increase the understanding of NUS students on mental health and mental illnesses, so that the community can come to understand that people with mental illnesses are not much different from ordinary people like us. The victims have been shouldering these labels that society puts on them and it’s time to change that mindset by coming together to drop that label!
As part of their campaign, black and white badges will be distributed randomly to the NUS population on the 3 October 2013 (Thursday) and 4 October 2013 (Friday) along AS1 walkway at FASS.
The black badges bear messages that highlight the realities of people suffering from mental illnesses, and white badges bear messages that breaks down the common misconceptions people have of mental illnesses.
Spread the message and do your part for mental health awareness by wearing the badge around campus on their official event date happening on 10 October 2013.
Free goodie bags and a surprise gift will be given out (while stocks last!!) at FASS AS1 walkway to those wearing the badges that day. So, start gathering your friends to support this cause and let’s spread the message about de-stigmatizing mental illnesses together!
