NUS researchers design free app for early detection of colour blindness
“DoDo’s Catching Adventure”, a game developed by NUS researchers to test for colour blindness in young children will be available next month on the Apple App Store for free. The game, which requires children to “catch” butterflies of matching colours by tapping a screen, is designed for children between aged three to six.
Those who are colour blind would consistently select different butterflies since they are unable to tell the difference between red and green, for instance. Early detection can help parents to cope with their child’s learning abilities so that they do not have to struggle emotionally and mentally when facing unexpected difficulties in school.
