FASS Food Hunt 2014 is here! Join the annual food hunting to find delicious and affordable food in Singapore while making new friends. FASS Food Hunt 2014 Organising Committee tells us what to expect in this year’s Food Hunt.
With Food Hunt being an annual event, how is this year’s Food Hunt different from the previous ones?
Variety is the key to this year’s event, as we include many new stalls that will excite your taste-buds. The event will not only include delicious food from well-known food stalls, but will also lead you to discover hidden gems as well as cafes. We also include multiple routes for the various teams, so as to be able to find even more new types of food. With so much variety, you can be sure to find something that you like! Other than exposing participants to places that serve good food, we also seek to value-add the event through an interactive quiz where they get to understand better and appreciate the origins behind the food they eat.
That being said, we are still retaining certain traditional aspects. For one, participants are still able to get a chance to bond with their friends in their team. The food is surely going to be worth the money while participants enjoy good food, good company and an epic, island-wide journey.
Can you tell us more about the theme of “An Unexpected Journey”?
We conceptualised our event based on the movie ‘The Hobbit’, as we find that the movie’s theme would go along well with what we envision the event to be. Participants form a team to go on a food hunting mission akin to the dwarves and Bilbo’s (the hobbit himself!) adventure. While we guarantee that participants do not have to go slay a dragon, there will be indeed some adventures along the way to heighten the fun! For one, the participants this year will get a chance to taste exotic food while on the Hunt. Also, the route to be taken by the teams will be released only on the actual day. Depending on the route your team chose, it shall lead you to an unexpected trail of “nomming”! Of course, we will not reveal too much as for now, so to find out more, don’t hesitate to sign up! What else can we expect from Food Hunt 2014?
Apart from the opportunity to gorge oneself silly on unique, yummy foods, prizes for the winning teams will also be given. Not only that, one can also expect to have fun, to make new friends and to enjoy “An Unexpected Journey” in itself by the end of the event!
