Acne is a problem that many of us are all too familiar with, likewise the many companies that develop and promote skincare products. The problem is, which one is good?

To help you with in deciding on the shopping list for your skincare products, we tried some the Benzac range of skincare products developed by Galderma, an international dermatology company.

Daily Facial Liquid Cleanser

If you are not washing your face everyday then you should especially if you are having acne problems! Twice a day is recommended by dermatologists, for our sunny and humid climate.
For your daily facial cleansing rituals, the Benzac Facial Liquid Cleanser is a good product that has been dermatologically tested which you have to try. This cleanser has been described as non-comedongenic and non-greasy. When I tried it, it did not feel greasy or oily. I cannot tell if it is non-comedongenic since I do not know how that feels. But generally it feels light and so did my face after using it.

Definitely something to drop into a gym bag or to keep nearby for those long days in school or work.

Facial Scrub

Exfoliating your skin ought to be part of your skincare regime. To do this you can use facial scrubs, which work to manually (by you) to remove dead skin. The removal of these dead skin help make your skin look more radiant, which generally means you look healthier and maybe a bit younger.

Tempting as it is, you shouldn’t scrub your face too often or your skin might become too thin. The recommended frequency of scrubbing your face ought to be no more than twice a week.

The Benzac facial scrub is another product to add onto your daily cleaner. The tube mentioned that it contains rice extract, which sounded natural enough for me to try. It was quite a nice experience, if you like it a bit rough, dermatologically speaking of course. But after washing up, my face felt smooth and clean.

AC-5: Benzoyl Peroxide Water Base Gel

Troubled by acne or pimples? Here’s a solution.

This gel supposedly reduces bacteria by over 90% within 48 hours of applying it on. The gel works by absorbing the excess facial oil and killing the bacteria on your face along the way. Also, your skin won’t get too dried by this gel.

Furthermore, if you are worried that your acne is the most virulent vulgar thing that can happen on your face, fret not. This gel comes in 3 strength levels, which are 2.5%, 5% and 10% in ascending order.

The verdict of the 5% strength gel was the disappearance of a pesky pimple within a few days. This may be something to have around when you are planning for that special date or appointment, just in case.
