WE WANT TO HEAR FROM YOU!

Send in your entries pertaining to the latest trends, the beloved classics, or anything fresh and experimental. They can span multiple categories ranging from fashion to fitness, travel to relationships. They can be thought-provoking opinion pieces, easily digestible infographics or even vlogs.

CONTEST DETAILS

Who: Anyone

When: 1 October 2017 – 31 January 2018

What: Your entries can be presented in, but not limited to, the following formats – listicles, infographics, videos, or essays

How: Submit three (3) entries in an email titled “ZALORA WRITING CONTEST 2017 – [NAME]” to community@zalora.com. The entries should be related to the above theme in the form of an article, video or infographic with accompanying text. Articles should range from 300 to 500 words. Videos should not exceed 300 MB, and infographics should not exceed 2 MB.

Judging Criteria:

– Relevance to the theme

– Creativity

– Presentation

– Style & Voice

 

WINNERS

Up to three (3) winners will be selected and announced via the ZALORA Community website on 1 March 2018.

 

PRIZES

– ZALORA vouchers worth S$200

– Three-month internship at ZALORA

– Articles will be published on THREAD, promoted on ZALORA’s social media pages throughout the region, as well as syndicated on top content sites like NYLON and Augustman.

 

TERMS & CONDITIONS

All submitted entries must be original and not previously published anywhere.

Only applications and entries in English will be accepted.

ZALORA will only process completed applications.

ZALORA reserves the exclusive right to publish any one or all of the entries received.

ZALORA WRITING CONTEST 2017 COMPETITION RULES

ZALORA Magazine (hereby known as the “Organiser”) will conduct the ZALORA Writing Contest (the “Competition”) as described in these contesting rules, and by participating, each entrant agrees as follows:

 

(I) SUBMISSION RULES

The Competition is open to all individual persons.

The Competition closes at 11:59:59pm of 31 January 2018.

A single Entrant may submit up to three (3) different entries.

An entry cannot be withdrawn once submitted to ZALORA.

There is no fee or charge for any entries to this competition.

An Entrant must enter on his/her own behalf and must submit his/her entry, which will include his/her name, address and e-mail address.

To enter the Competition, the Entrant must submit his/her entries before the Closing Date. The following information to be provided are mandatory: name, age, course, email address, entry theme(s). Entries must not be handwritten and must be in English. Entries must be submitted in Microsoft Word or PDF format. An entry will be considered complete only upon receipt of the uploaded synopsis and full manuscript.

The Organiser reserves the right to allocate the entry into a different category at the Organiser’s discretion. Entrants are responsible for completing the submission process correctly and alerting the Organiser to any problems they encounter. The Organiser accept no liability for submissions not received due to a failure on the Entrant’s part to follow the instructions correctly. Entrants must be contactable at the email address they provide at the time of submission and judging.

The Organiser will not be liable for technical, hardware, or software failures of any kind or lost or unavailable network connections that may limit or prohibit an eligible entrant’s ability to participate in the competition. Other than death or personal injury arising from the acts or omissions of the Organiser or its employees, the Organiser will not be liable for any loss or damage arising out of the winner’s enjoyment of the prize.

All personal data provided to the Organiser in the course of The Competition is confidential, although Entrants’ names may be published on the Website.

 

(II) REPRESENTATIONS AND WARRANTIES

Entries must be the original work of the Entrant. If the entry was created with a co-author, the Entrant must identify the co-author.

Entries must not have previously been published in print or online. Entries also must not have been the recipient of a prize or recognition in any other competition.

By submitting an entry, the Entrant represents and warrants that his/her submission (i) is his/her own original content and does not infringe on any other copyright and (ii) is not defamatory, obscene, or illegal. The entrant agrees to indemnify the Organiser against any liability and damages resulting from the Organiser’s reliance on Entrant’s representations and warranties, including any incurred attorneys’ fees and costs.

 

(III) JUDGING CRITERIA

All entries will be judged according to the following apportionment:

Originality/Concept: 20%

Presentation: 20%

Relevance to Theme: 20%

Style/Tone: 20%

Commercial Potential: 20%

 

(IV) JUDGING PROCESS

All valid entries received before the Closing Date will be reviewed by a sub-panel of judges who will be using the Judging Criteria (set out above) to decide on their winning applicant. If there are less than ten entries in an individual category, the judges may, at their discretion, select entries from across the other categories to make up the shortfall.

The judges’ decision is final.

The winning entrant(s) will be notified during the week commencing 1 March, 2018.

If the winning entrant(s) cannot be contacted or is not available, the Organiser reserves the right to select another winner from the entries shortlisted before the closing date/time. The winning entrant will be notified by email he/she provided at the time of registration, as well as a post on the ZALORA magazine website.

 

(V) PRIZES

The winning entrant will win S$200 worth of ZALORA shopping vouchers, as well as an internship with the Magazine team.

If the winning entrant cannot be contacted or is disqualified for any reason, the Organiser reserves the right to determine an alternate winner or not to award that winner’s prize, in its sole discretion.

The winning entrant is responsible for ensuring he/she is able to accept the prize as set out and in accordance with these terms and conditions, in the event they are unable to do so then the Organiser reserves the right to withdraw the prize.

 

(VI) COPYRIGHT AND PUBLICITY RELEASE

Entrants will retain copyright in their submitted entries, however, by entering the Competition, all entrants grant the Organiser a non-exclusive, worldwide, royalty-free, perpetual license to edit, publish and use parts of each entry in any and all media (including, but not limited to, print and online) for publicity and news purposes.

By entering the Competition, the winning entrant agrees to participate in reasonable publicity relating to the Award, including but not limited to having his/her name published with their entry.

By entering the Competition, the winning entrant further agrees to allow the free use of his/her name, photograph(s) and general locations for publicity and news purposes during this and future promotions by the Organiser.

 

(VII) MISCELLANEOUS TERMS AND CONDITIONS

Submission of entries will be deemed acceptance of each and every rule, term, and condition set forth in this and the proceeding sections. The Organiser reserves the right, with or without cause, to exclude entrants and withhold prizes for violating any of these rules, terms, and conditions.

Fraudulent entries will invalidate the Entrant.

There is no entry fee charged.

The Organiser reserves the right to amend these rules, terms, and conditions at any time. Any amendments will be published on ZALORA Magazine.

There is no alternative to the prize stated. The prize is not transferable and no part or parts of the prize may be substituted for other benefits, items or additions.

The Organiser reserves the right at any time to cancel, modify or supersede the Competition (including altering the prize) if, in its sole discretion, the Competition is not capable of being conducted as specified. The Organiser reserves the right to substitute a prize of equal value in the event that circumstances beyond their control make this unavoidable.
