On 8 November 2017, The North Face® is proud to present its brand-new store concept, featuring the Outdoor Training Station: a first-of-its-kind outdoor retail facility in Southeast Asia inspired by its flagship store in Shanghai, China.

Spanning mountaineering, climbing, trail running, hiking and skiing, the merchandise will revolutionise the retail experience for fitness enthusiasts looking for the best in-class outdoor gear. Equipped with design elements such as the Green wall and equipment such as a rock climbing wall and kettlebells, much effort has gone into replicating outdoor training conditions within the retail store space. This innovative concept allows outdoor enthusiasts to test-drive the high-importance gear immediately to assess and experience the comfort level of the sports apparel.

The new store also expands their extensive range of performance gear with limited-edition pieces imported specially from Japan and Korea. This exclusive range of apparel spans from leisure tops, gym pants, newly launched sports bras to collectible accessories. All of which are targeted at meeting the needs of the brand’s primary fans, who enjoy the brand’s key outdoor activities such as mountaineering, climbing, trail running, hiking and skiing.

To commemorate the launch, The North Face® Singapore will be attempting to break a new Singapore Book of Records for the most number of people doing Mountain Climbing exercise together led by Mr Ruben Payan Junior, The North Face® Outdoor Training Programme Director of Education. The record-breaking attempt embodies the boundary-pushing spirit that The North Face® represents.

This passionate energy is being continuously fueled by The North Face®’s outstanding local athlete team, who will be gracing the launch event and sharing insights on their specialised disciplines. Each of the athletes is a testament to the unbridled potentail that comes with fierce determination and ambition.

Driver by his passion in ultra-running, ultra-marathoner Chris Yeo has conquered mammoth marathons such as The TransOmania, a 300km non-stop and self-supported race across the Wahiba Desert and Dunes in Oman. His recent accomplishment is Lon Las CYMRU Ultra 2017, a 400km race where he finished 6th position.

Not only a three times national champion tennis player and Singapore representative in three SEA Games, mountain biker Laura Liong is also a trailblazer who clinched the National Champion in Cross Country Mountain Biking in 2014. She is an active individual who trains regularly for strength and conditioning exercises.

Winner of the silver medial at the 2011 SEA Games and a four time National Champion for Lead Climbing in Singapore, sports climber Jay Koh is also a passionate climbing coach who has covered some of the most remarkable climbing places in the world. He now owes his own climbing facility, Kinetics Climbing and focuses on training and sharing his passion across the fitness community.

Personal trainer Alfred Tang has trained clients from all walks of life for over 17 years, with a mission to help others in their fitness journeys. He also has a personal ambition to complete 100 marathons in his life time.

With 19 years of teaching experience under her belt, certified Yoga and Pilates teacher, Dawn Sim is also the owner of her own studio Trium Fitness, where she spreads her passion and love for fitness to many.

The North Face® is extremely proud to be the first choice for these accomplished national athletes, and continually shows support for our local athletes by providing the best gear for the modern day explorer with game-changing product lines.
