Fire damaged NUS Research Lab
Two men who were hospitalized on Friday night after a fire broke out at the National University of Singapore (NUS) have been discharged from hospital.
The duo — a graduate student and a security officer — were sent to the National University Hospital for smoke inhalation.
The blaze engulfed a laboratory located on the sixth floor of the Engineering faculty block EW2. It took firemen one and a half hours to extinguish the fire.
An NUS spokesman said the safety and well-being of its staff and students are its top priorities and that it is investigating the cause of the fire.
This is the third fire at the NUS Engineering faculty in less than two years.
