November is the season of tight deadlines, hair-raising group projects and the dreaded final exams. Sometimes it can feel like it’s really hard to just breathe. But nothing says simplicity and elegance quite like a haiku.
Its form is economical, consisting of just three lines generally in a 5/7/5 line structure. It’s simple, succinct and just what you need–just like taking a deep breath after a long day. Here are three haikus on taking a breath in this intense period of the semester.
Remember: there is a light that never goes out.

a day at a time
One assignment at a time, one day at a time is the mantra that this haiku reminds us about.

Take time to find moments of quiet just before the day begins.
